Registration
Europcar UK is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 to process data in
respect of our customers, and complies with the eight principles of the Act. The
main provision of the Act requires us to process data “fairly & lawfully“.

Use of Information
Data processing includes using information held on our systems & files for
the purposes of managing our business, and we may also use the information for
marketing purposes related to our business.
Individuals' Rights Under the Act -
Personal Information
An individual may request, and receive, any information held by us in their name.
Should an individual wish to receive copies of information held by Europcar, they
may write to our head office, addressing their request to the Data Controller,
enclosing a cheque for £10 in respect of our administration fee. The full

We regret we are unable to provide personal information on the telephone, by
email or by fax.
Direct Marketing Information
Prior to any direct marketing communication, we process all mailing lists via
the Mailing Preference Service organisation, to ensure individuals who have expressed
a wish not to receive written communications are not sent mailings by us.
In any event, should an individual elect not to receive direct marketing information,
they may write to the Data Controller at the above address, indicating they wish
to be identified as not to receive such information. We will update our records
accordingly. In this case, no administration fee is required.
Necessary Personal Information for
Correspondence
In all correspondence, the individual must include their unique Driver Id number,
to ensure we act on the appropriate record(s). In the event that the individual
does not know their unique Id number, the following information must be supplied:
full name & address and date of birth, daytime contact telephone number, together
with any appropriate Europcar reference (recent rental agreement or invoice number).
