All prices include Unlimited Mileage, Collision Damage Waiver*, Theft Waiver*,
Licences and Fees charge, tax and 24hr emergency roadside assistance from the
AA.
Payment Details
All British Car Rental bookings must be prepaid online using a major* credit/
debit card.
* acceptable credit cards are American Express, Diners, Mastercard
and Visa. Acceptable debit cards are Switch and Connect.
Deposits
At the time of rental, customers must present a major* credit card (debit cards
are not acceptable) for deposit purposes. An authorisation of £150 will
be held on the credit card for the period of rental. In the event of the vehicle
being returned undamaged, on time and full of fuel, the authorisation will be
cancelled in full.
Rental Period
The minimum rental period is 1 day. Days are calculated as periods of 24 hours
or part thereof. Cars must be returned by the agreed time. A grace period of 59
minutes is allowed for emergencies only. Additional day's rental charges will
be applied in the event of cars being returned later.
Age Restrictions
Minimum age for drivers is 23 years. A young drivers surcharge will apply for
drivers aged between 23 and 25. Maximum age is 74 years, 364 days. Premium sized
vehicles require a minimum age of 25.
Driving Licences
All drivers must produce valid Driving Licences when collecting the vehicle. Licences
should be full, clean, and must have been held for at least one year, (three years
for Premium sized vehicles). If you have any endorsements on your driver's licence,
please call ++ 44 (0)113 237 6879, as your booking may not be accepted.
NB: British drivers must produce both parts of the new British
photo ID drivers licence. For more details call the DVLA in Swansea on 0870 240
0009.
Overseas Use
Cars rented in the UK may NOT be taken to Continental Europe with British Car
Rental. Insurance coverage and roadside assistance does not extend to the Continental
Europe.
One Way Rentals
British Car Rental does not allow rentals to be picked up in one station and returned
in another.
Out of Hours
British Car Rental does not service rental requirements outside of the office
hours stated on the site.
Vehicle Availability
Please note that vehicle types displayed on this site are for guidance only. A
booking is made for a vehicle size only, the model displayed, or similar, will
be provided.
Amendments
Amendments to a reservation can me made prior to the start of the rental. Changes
to the reservation may affect the rental rates and require a new confirmation
voucher to be issued. Amendments will be subject to a £15 administration
charge.
Cancellations
All cancellations must be made in writing and sent or e-mailed to British Car
Rental. The customer can cancel the booking without charge, provided this is done
within 7 working days of the reservation date shown on the confirmation voucher.
After this time has elapsed, the rental amount will be refunded
less a cancellation fee calculated as follows:
Cancelled more than 48 hours prior to the rental start date
- a 20% cancellation charge will be levied.
Cancelled less than 48 hours prior to the rental start date - a 30% cancellation
charge will be levied.
A 100% cancellation fee shall apply if the driver fails to collect the vehicle
on the rental start date and has failed to notify British Car rental in writing
in advance of this date.
